Modus Operandi Awarded Missile Defense Agency Contract to Automate Software Code Compliance Inspection using Movia®

MELBOURNE, Fla., February 22, 2022 – Modus Operandi, a company that delivers innovative software that harnesses data to empower smarter decisions, was awarded a Missile Defense Agency contract to conduct a feasibility study on reducing the time and improving the accuracy of checking software code’s compliance against the MDA’s standards.

The effort, called ASSURE (AI for Software SUbmission REquirements), with contracts awarded under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program, aims to help the MDA approve software for use in less time and without the errors of current manual methods.

The dynamic nature of the threat horizon requires frequent adaptations to the Missile Defense System (MDS) software system, putting further strain on existing time-intensive and error-prone manual approval methods. Movia’s powerful content comparison, AI/ML enrichment, and workflow tools will be used to automate code verification, assuring compliance with MDA Assurance Provision (MAP) requirements and other emerging standards.

“Movia will enable MDA to vet their code at the pace of need, accelerating our Nation’s response to not only external threats, but also internal threats from non-compliant code,” stated Peter Dyson, Modus Operandi CEO. “We are pleased to support our Nation this way.”
